As we start December and finish out the rest of the year - it has become fairly dry in Monroe, NC. We are still 5"+ above average in rainfall for 2024 (30 year average is 45") with 3 weeks left to go. This would be the second consecutive year of above average rainfall for Monroe. The cold nights and the low dewpoints are getting the leaves to drop in a hurry now. We have had a couple of nice hard freezes to knock down the remaining yellow jackets, skeeters. and fire ants that seem to pester everyone. Looking forward to a colder than average winter which we have not had in several years.
