Notes: This period starting from the evening of the 2nd of April to the present time has been one of the wettest for this period of April in many years. Thunderstorms with high winds up to 45 mph began with light rain and increased to heavy rainfall overnight on the 3rd. The NWS placed a large scale area under Tornado Watches followed by Tornado Warnings in multiple areas of northern Kentucky (as well as western Kentucky). Several Tornadoes touched down in the area as well as in the Louisville Metro area. To keep this short, the weather system stalled out in the area and has continued to have waves of training rainfall with more thunderstorms, light rain, moderate rain, and heavy rain. This observed rainfall since the evening of the 2nd to the present was 4.70 inches with a predicted 4-6 inches more possible before ending around Sunday morning or afternoon. Current temp is 56F with a dew point temp of 53F. The skies are overcast with light rain and north wind at 6 mph. A brief rain shower just passed this station but was not included in this count.
